Ankeny Christian Child Care Summer Program

A summer full of adventure, learning, and memories that last.

Our Summer Program is open to currently enrolled families and, when space allows, summer‑only participants. School‑Age children at ACCC spend their summer exploring, creating, building, getting messy, discovering new interests, and enjoying the kind of childhood fun they’ll talk about for years.

🥋 Christian Character Belts

  • Growing hearts and character through hands‑on experiences.

  • Throughout the summer, children work toward earning nine Bible‑based “character belts”—similar to martial‑arts belts, but focused on spiritual growth. Belts can be earned through:

  • Woodworking

  • Volunteering and service

  • Bible knowledge

  • Gift‑giving and kindness

  • Arts & crafts

  • STEM challenges

  • These belts give children meaningful goals and celebrate their growth all summer long.

🚐 Field Trips & Special Visitors

Learning beyond the classroom—every week.

Our School‑Agers enjoy a mix of on‑campus and off‑campus adventures, plus visits from community members during themed weeks like Career Week, Pet Week, and our crowd‑favorite Christmas in July. Children also dive into themed experiences such as Pioneer Week (including Living History Farms) and weekly hands‑on projects that support their learning and curiosity.
 

We also encourage children to lead the way—each summer they choose outreach projects, host ice cream socials, and even make things safely explode during science days.
